Welcome to Killara Public School, a highly successful public education primary school in the North Shore area of New South Wales. 220 pupils from Kindergarten to Year 6 thrive here in a natural bush environment and a strong community spirit. We encourage independence and resourcefulness, combined with an understanding and respect for differences.
At Killara Public School, each pupil is encouraged to take responsibility for their own life and have the confidence to create their own future. Killara Public School teachers are committed to developing individuals, who are confident, creative and have the ability to communicate their needs. We are proud of the wide range of educational opportunities we offer, in literacy and numeracy, science and technology, arts, dance, music, PE and sport. We cater to the needs of all of our students and ensure that the curriculum we deliver develops the whole child.
We believe that the ultimate success of any school rests upon the individual care and attention we give to our students, and this is promoted through our support and pastoral care programs which are structured to accommodate the different stages of each child's personal development. Every teacher at Killara Public School shares responsibility for the pastoral care of children and believe that 'happy children learn'.
